Once a Texan, Always a Texan.
As a Tarleton alum, these senior sessions mean more to me than just getting good photos. I remember what it felt like to be in their shoes. Excited, a little overwhelmed, and proud of how far I’d come. Getting to photograph graduates now and hear their stories makes it feel full circle.
The Stories I Love Hearing
One of my favorite parts is just talking. I’ll ask where they’re headed next or what their favorite Tarleton memory is, and the answers always surprise me. Some are ready to leave and chase the next thing. Others get emotional talking about the people and moments that shaped them. Those conversations end up shaping the photos more than any pose list ever could.
School Spirit and Champagne Pops
Being an alum, I get the purple pride. It shows up differently for everyone. Some go all in with the color, some keep it subtle, and a few bring the champagne for that classic pop. Those moments are fun, but what I really enjoy is watching them loosen up once the camera is out. The school spirit is already there. I’m just there to capture it.
A Full-Circle Feeling
Photographing Tarleton seniors feels personal because I was one. I know the mix of nerves and excitement that comes with finishing. Getting to celebrate that chapter with them, whether it’s a champagne pop, a quiet portrait, or something in between, is one of the best parts of what I do.If you’re a Tarleton senior getting ready to graduate, I’d love to hear your story. Bleed purple. Congrats! You’ve earned it!
